How to play Speed Stars

Speed Stars is a sprint, not a driving game and not an endless runner. You do not steer a car. You do not jump pits. You time steps so the runner holds form down a track.

Choose your platform: PC · Phone · Chromebook · Controller.

The two inputs

Google Play: tap the left side and the right side. Each tap is a step. The App Store: two-finger touch down the 100m. Poki: left and right to run and also to balance. Steam says moving the racer takes two controls, and timing, rhythm, pacing, and composure decide the race. Same idea, different hardware.

On PC

Steam is the Windows game. Browser copies, including Poki and the MEEGames page, use A/D or the arrow keys. The Steam page does not print a WASD diagram, so do not assume W does anything. Full key notes are on controls. Getting the Steam app itself is the PC page.

On a phone

Alternate left and right thumbs. A false start is a thing portals mention: leaving before the gun wastes the rep. The 100m is the free race. The App Store says the Full Version adds 200m, 400m, 60m, 110m hurdles, and 400m hurdles. Hurdles need an extra input that flat races do not. That is the hurdles and relay page.

On a Chromebook

Use the browser build if the network allows Poki. Poki’s listing highlights the 100m; it does not confirm the phone’s extra events. Keys are the same left/right pair. If the school filter blocks that host, read unblocked before you download anything.

On a controller

The Steam listing does not confirm a controller layout. Use its in-game controls menu to check your device; the controls guide separates confirmed inputs from unverified mappings.

For a practice run, alternate the two inputs and watch the runner’s posture rather than chasing a tap count. Community guides associate rushed inputs with poor rhythm; the store descriptions confirm timing matters but do not publish an ideal cadence.

After the pattern feels even, the next page is how to run faster. Stat points are builds, and they will not fix a start you jump.

FAQ

Is Speed Stars a racing game?

The App Store files it under Racing. Play is a track sprint: two inputs, one per step. It is running rather than car racing; longer events can cover multiple track laps.

Can I play multiplayer?

Steam lists ghosts, AI (up to eight runners), and 1v1. The phone apps list ghosts, AI, time trial, and a global board. That is race-against-times-and-bots, not a lobby of friends on a server the stores describe.
